Mullah Fazlullah Killed by Pak Armed Force

 

Mullah Fazlullah has been reportedly killed in an operation by Pakistani security agencies in Tirah valley.

Fazlullah, (born 1974) nicknamed the “Radio Mullah” was a militant Islamist who has served as the leader of the Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi, an organisation aiming to enforce Sharia in Pakistan, and was the leader of the Tehreek-e-Taliban-e-Pakistan in Swat Valley. On 7 November 2013 he became the emir of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, and has presided over the descent of the group into factions who are often at war with each other.

Fazlullah and the Taliban claimed responsibility for the school attack that resulted in the deaths of “at least 148 individuals, mostly students.

Fazlullah also was behind the 2012 assassination attempt on Pakistani schoolgirl activist Malala Yousafzai, who last year was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Fazlullah was elected leader of the Taliban in 2013.
