150 Pakistanis in Yemen to be evacuated on Navy ship today

ALSHEHER: 150 Pakistanis stranded in Yemen will be evacuated via a Pakistan Navy ship from a port located in the city of Alsheher today.

The stranded Pakistanis have started boarding the Pakistan Navy ship which will depart for Karachi. “We were brought to Alsheher which is 50 KM from Mukalla under tight security and boarding has started. The ship is 10 Km away from the port,” said Shahzain who is among the stranded Pakistanis.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will hold a meeting on the situation in Yemen at 8:00 PM PST. The UNSC will deliberate on civilian deaths in Yemen and a Russian proposal for possible humanitarian pauses in air strikes.

Saudia Arabia and its allies launched an attack code named Operation Decisive Storm against the Houthi fighters on March 26 to halt their advance in Yemen.

Saudi-led bombardment on Yemen has so far claimed around 600 civilian lives, mostly women and children, a UN report claims.
